PhD student Maria Andreou wins first prize in composition competition

A work by PhD in composition student Maria Andreou, Aερικό - Aeriko, for alto flute, has won First Prize in the Yiannis A. Papaioannou competition, organized by the Greek Composers Union. The piece was performed in Athens on 17th December 2009. Maria Andreou is a student of John Stringer.
